What is this class?

If you are interested in having an intergenerational music making experience with your child and the "Grandmas and Grandpas" of Villa Carital Italian Seniors Home or Tapestry at Arbutus Walk then this is the class for you! At Villa Carital or Tapestry, senior residents are invited to participate with us in a Music TogetherĀ® class. Parents and children sit together in our usual music making circle and the senior residents of Villa Carital or Tapestry sit around us and participate as they are able. The Music Together teacher will encourage interaction between all ages in the room and design the class so that children, parents and seniors can participate together as a music making community. At the end of the class time will be provided to get to know some of the seniors at the centre.

What does this program offer me?

  • A unique and rich music making community with participants age 9 months to 99 years!
  • The chance to make a difference in someone's life.
  • An opportunity for your child to interact with seniors in a joyous and inclusive environment.

Parents will be expected to participate fully in the class and take some time at the end of class to chat and socialize with the other parents and seniors in the class.
